 Historically this is not a problem.  The maintainers of are
not that hasty in deleting old stuff (which is the right way).  There are
old releases of autoconf back to 2.7, automake back to 1.0, gettext 0.10
and libtool 1.0.  The worst that happens is moving stuff from /gnu to

 Of course archiving copies separately is not a problem, either.  Then you
can write: "Get copies from, or use versions archived here."
