Installing binutils.

Hello everyone,
I'm sorry about this idiotical message,
but I couldn't find an answer in the documentation.

My problem is:
I'm using slackware 7.1, now binutils comes installed in
/usr/bin,/usr/lib...
Now, I've downloaded binutils-2.10.1,
And did the usual configure;make;make install.
It installed in /usr/local/bin, /usr/local/lib...
Which is where I wish to install it,
but my problem is that everything I use,
uses the old binutils(Because /usr/bin is in the $PATH before
/usr/local/bin).
What should I do?

Thanks,
	-Amir.
