There's already a configuration system (used by perl and trn IIRC) called metaconfig. It's broadly similar to autoconf (to the user at least) except it keeps asking you questions. It even gets a mention in the introduction to the autoconf manual. I do wonder if it might be wiser to pick a less similar name. Cheers, Olly
