I agree that bare "chain of PCs" + build-ids of everything (or some
other way to identify the binaries involved) is quite useful under
some conditions.

I still don't understand the motivation for original Ray Ruvinskiy's
request for GDB to get "chain of PCs" from core without the binary
(which is generally impossible on some platforms anyway).
