Using CentOS 5.3 with latest updates via yum I get the following when trying to build VMware::VmPerl

[root@vmdog control-only]# make
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/bin/ld: BFD 2.17.50.0.6-9.el5 20061020 internal error, aborting at ../../bfd/bfd.c 
line 506 in _bfd_default_error_handler

/usr/bin/ld: Please report this bug.

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [blib/arch/auto/VMware/VmPerl/VmPerl.so] Error 1

Hi Tom,

  2.17 is an old release of the binutils.  If you can upgrade to the current
release (2.19) I am sure that you will find that the bug is fixed.  If, by some
chance the problem does still exist then please could you create a small test
case to reproduce the problem, and reopen this bug report.
